The NSDAR’s mission is to promote historic preservation, education, and patriotism by honoring the patriots of the American Revolutionary War.  The Cornerstone of Liberty, NSDAR, Inc. Chapter strives to continue this mission.

Protect and share the legacy of American history including the preservation of Revolutionary War era site, artifacts, and records.  In June 2026, we honored General Thomas Sumter, a Revolutionary War Hero and Sumter County, Florida Namesake.

Support and improve education for children through scholarships, donations, and community programs.

Recognize and honor the contributions of American Patriots; support our Veterans and service personnel; promote the Constitution; and instill a sense of civic duty.  Each year in mid-December, the Cornerstone of Liberty, NSDAR, Inc. participates in the national “Wreaths Across America where we place wreaths on veterans graves.  In May, we honor the fallen by placing a U.S. Flag on each veterans’ grave for Memorial Day.  Our civic duty continues as we work the polls on election day.
